Brief and Challenge

Nespresso made a strategic decision to focus on its core business — developing and manufacturing premium coffee and coffee capsules. It therefore needed a reliable partner to take over a broad range of other products and related operations without compromising brand quality and consistency.

With growing international reach, it was also necessary to continuously adapt product solutions, packaging formats, manufacturing capacity and logistics to the requirements of individual markets.

Our Approach

Marvinpac created an integrated solution covering capsule repacking, single-serve sugar, descaling sets and a broad portfolio of coffee preparation and serving accessories made from various materials, such as glass, porcelain and stainless steel.

The partnership includes sourcing, manufacturing, packaging, assembly, quality control and global distribution. Marvinpac also continuously adapts the solution to the changing requirements of individual markets.

Coffee Discovery Set

One of the projects is the Coffee Discovery Set, designed to let new Nespresso machine owners sample a wide range of coffees from their very first use.

Each set contains 14 capsules representing different flavors and blends. Marvinpac receives original capsules from Nespresso's manufacturing plants, repacks them into dedicated Discovery Sets, and delivers the finished sets to partners who bundle them with new machines. Marvinpac has been running the program since 2000, in several specifications and variants for individual markets.

Premium Serving Sets

Marvinpac also provides comprehensive serving sets combining components from various suppliers and materials — for example, stainless steel spoons and trays, glass cups and water glasses, or porcelain cups and saucers.

Marvinpac identifies suitable manufacturers, manages production according to required quality standards, and coordinates the delivery of components to the co-packing center. It then handles final packaging development, assembly of individual combinations, 100% quality control, and delivery of finished sets to Nespresso markets worldwide.

Nespresso gains a single partner for its broad portfolio of accessory products and related operations. Marvinpac coordinates the entire process, from supplier selection and sourcing through manufacturing, packaging and quality control to global distribution.

Nespresso can thus focus on coffee, brand development and customer experience, while Marvinpac takes over the operational complexity associated with the wider product portfolio.
